Advanced Workshop: Using Clinical Hypnosis for Pain, Dr. Dave Patterson

This two-day workshop will focus on the use of hypnosis for acute pain and procedures (e.g., dentistry, burn care, surgery, labor and delivery, emergency room, and intensive care unit) on Day 1. On Day 2, we will focus on managing chronic pain and the use of hypnosis to enhance psychotherapy. The workshop format will involve cycling through theory and science, followed by demonstrations of hypnosis and then dyad practice among participants. We will make this applicable to pain control and management, but will also do growth-oriented experiential work (i.e., using goals that are relevant to participants as well as addressing physical pain)

Day 1 will focus on the use of hypnosis for acute pain and procedures (e.g., dentistry, burn care, surgery, labor and delivery, emergency room, and intensive care unit).

Day 2 we will focus on managing chronic pain and the use of hypnosis to enhance psychotherapy.
