Clinical Hypnosis for the Fear of Flying
Registration is now open for this event
In this one-day workshop, participants will discover how to use Hypnosis to address the Fear of Flying and flight anxiety.
An estimated 10-50% of the general population in industrialized nations experience a fear of flying, so chances are likely that if you work with people, you work with someone who has flight anxiety and should know about the prevalence, signs, assessment procedures, and treatment approaches for flight anxiety.
In this workshop Dr. Nishi-Strattner will cover the anatomy of an airplane trip, some basic aerodynamic concepts, and several interesting facts about air travel. We will explore various treatment approaches and treatment programs for those patients (or clients) who suffer from flight anxiety. Hypnotic techniques for use with fearful flyers will be presented, followed by demonstrations of various aspects of a clinical hypnosis approach to fear of flying. Participants will have multiple opportunities to practice the interviewing skills, psychoeducation concepts, and hypnotic techniques that can be woven into a comprehensive treatment approach to flight anxiety.
Schedule:
The training runs from 9am to 4:30 pm Pacific Time. Lunch is on your own from 12.00-1.00 pm Pacific time so please plan accordingly. Nishi-Strattner_ timed agenda.v4.pdf
