Dr. Alter will facilitate a small group consultation experience.  The consultation group will allow a rare opportunity to learn from his vast clinical experience.

The group will be limited to 5 participants.  The premise of the session is that while condition-specific clinical knowledge is important, enhancement of the comfort, confidence and competence of the clinician with co-creating hypnotically-informed therapeutic encounters is essential to enhancing clinical outcomes.

Each participant will identify a specific client-based challenge the clinician is struggling with or a recurring clinical experience the clinician encounters with clients to present in the consultation group.**  Time will be taken to briefly discuss the particulars and commonalities of the clinicians’ experiences. Then, the remainder of the consultation session will be used to enhance the clinicians’ skills relevant to the various presenting concerns.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will be able to define methods for transforming casual client interactions into hypnotically-infused encounters.
  • Participants will practice 1-2 methods of evoking and facilitating hypnotic encounters without reliance on formal trance phenomena.
1.5 ASCH CE is pending.  **Participants are asked to come prepared to present with their identified concern.  OSCH members get priority registration for this session.  Please register early.
