Creativity and Hypnosis:
Evoking Generative States for Positive Growth & Change
Most clinical work involves working with clients on remedial, clinical issues. How can we use hypnosis to provide more positive states with clinical populations? How do we best help individuals tap into more generative states to perform more efficiently, and have more fun in life?
This workshop attempts to answer these questions, and provide hypnotic tools for creativity, and give an overview of the scientific literature of hypnosis and creativity.
This workshop is a day long (6 hour) format with a break for lunch. It consist of three parts:
The first part of this workshop provides the history and theory of hypnosis and creativity research, as well as the clinical aspects that have been discussed in hypnosis literature.
The second portion of the workshop provides experiential exercises, both group as well as in small group settings, to learn techniques and implement inductions and suggestions for generative change. Participants will be able to utilize these with clients.
The third part gives an overview of treatment planning and ideas for integration into therapy and hypnotic settings will also be discussed.
After completing this workshop, participants will be able to:
1. Cite at least one theory of hypnosis and creativity.
2. Have a basic knowledge of the experimental and clinical literature of hypnosis and creativity.
3. Be able to utilize at least one hypnotic suggestion for evoking creative states with clients in practice.
